Hello everyone, and welcome to another of my reviews. In this article, I’ll review the H2 Pro from the local ergonomic furniture label Hinomi.
Hinomi claims to be Singapore’s number one best-selling ergonomic chair brand, based on aggregated Google Trends data and sales rankings on Shopee and Lazada Singapore. So when the brand reached out to me to review its new flagship chair, the H2 Pro, I readily agreed. I wanted to find out what makes Hinomi so popular—and whether the H2 Pro really lives up to the hype.
Hinomi H2 Pro – Ergonomic Chair Review
Hinomi offers a wide range of ergonomic chairs starting from just S$279, with the H2 Pro sitting at the top of its lineup as the brand’s flagship model.
Right out of the box, I was impressed by the H2 Pro’s premium look and feel. Available in five colourways—Black, Grey, White, Green and Pink—I opted for Cream White as I felt it would give the chair a more luxurious appearance. It certainly delivered on that front, with a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic that feels considerably more refined than standard ergonomic chairs from IKEA and other similarly priced brands.
The bulk of the H2 Pro is made out of what Hinomi calls AirDuroy™ mesh, which combines high-tensile polyester with flexible elastomer to ensure long-lasting durability and stretch resistance. It also features what the brand calls a “Chenille-Flocked Surface”, which refers to its smooth, quilted texture that not only feels premium to the touch, but is also soft and therefore skin-friendly (unlike the rougher, plasticky feel of cheaper mesh chairs).
The mesh construction also makes the H2 Pro highly breathable, which is particularly useful in Singapore’s humid climate. It helps minimise the discomfort of sweaty backs and thighs, while also eliminating concerns about synthetic leather peeling or deteriorating over time. As an added assurance, the mesh is made from fabrics certified under the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which tests for harmful substances.
Aside from the AirDuroy™ mesh, the H2 Pro features a lightweight yet durable aluminium chassis, which not only enhances its structural integrity but also adds to its premium look and feel. Most ergonomic chairs at this price point, including several of Hinomi’s more affordable models, typically rely on plastic components instead of metal. Given that aluminium comes at a higher cost, its inclusion in the H2 Pro is a reassuring indicator of the chair’s overall build quality.
Similarly, the H2 Pro’s wheelbase is also made from aluminium, which is a welcome touch given that it bears much of the chair’s weight and takes on considerable stress during everyday use. A sturdy wheelbase should therefore contribute to better durability and stability over the long term.
The H2 Pro also comes with an optional leg rest, which I opted to add. It’s a particularly useful feature when kicking back to watch Netflix, and one that isn’t commonly offered on ergonomic chairs at this price point.
Of course, being Hinomi’s flagship ergonomic chair, the H2 Pro is equipped with a host of customisation for you to find that perfect fit. For starters, the H2 Pro features what the brand calls “UniAdapt Lumbar Support”, with customisable height (3cm) and depth (2.5cm) for the center lumbar support piece.
Secondly, the H2 Pro features a tiltable backrest that can be adjusted both forwards and backwards, along with a forward-tilting seat for added flexibility and support. The backrest also offers five levels of height adjustment, allowing users to customise the fit according to their spine length and body size.
Thirdly, the headrest offers three-way adjustability, allowing users to customise the tilt angle, raise or lower its height, and move it forwards or backwards. This makes it easy to find a position that feels natural and provides the right level of support.
Finally, the H2 Pro features what Hinomi calls “Bipivot 5D Armrests”, which offer multiple levels of adjustment to customise both their height and angle, including inward and outward positioning. The armrests also move in tandem with the backrest when reclining, ensuring your arms remain supported throughout. When not in use, they can be flipped up by 95° to save space.
All in all, the Hinomi H2 Pro offers 19 adjustment points and is designed to accommodate users between 155cm and 200cm in height, with a maximum weight capacity of 150kg. It also features four levels of reclining tension adjustment, allowing users to fine-tune the resistance according to their body weight and preferred level of support.
Conclusion – so the Hinomi H2 Pro Ergonomic Chair “shiok” or not?
In sum, it’s easy to see why the H2 Pro sits at the top of Hinomi’s lineup. For starters, it is impressively well-built, combining materials such as an aluminium chassis, woven mesh construction and quiet caster wheels. Hinomi also backs the H2 Pro with a warranty of up to 10 years, which is a strong vote of confidence in its long-term durability. In addition, the H2 Pro offers up to 19 adjustment points, allowing users to fine-tune the chair to their preferred sitting position and achieve a genuinely personalised fit. Add in less common features such as an optional leg rest and a range of distinctive colourways, and the H2 Pro stands out from the competition. I’ve been using the H2 Pro for over half a year now, and it has become my daily chair of choice. If I had one gripe, it would be Hinomi’s rather convoluted marketing terminology, particularly the elaborate names given to some of the chair’s various components and features.
